A member of the Intellectual
Property Rights panel of the American Arbitration Association, he has
served as arbitrator in significant trade secret, contract, and biotech
and pharmaceutical patent disputes.
OTHER PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Mr. Berliner is a member of the Executive Committee of the Senior Lawyers
Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is a founding
Director and currently is on the Board of the Southern California
Biomedical Council and is a member of the American Chemical Society. He
has lectured on intellectual property at the University of California,
Los Angeles, and taught trademark and copyright law as an Adjunct Professor
of Law at the Southwestern University School of Law.
President Bush's Council on Service and Civic Participation awarded the
President's Volunteer Service Award to Mr. Berliner.
In December, 2010, Mr. Berliner received the Honorary Degree of Doctor of
Humane Letters from the University of Colorado.
